It is never easy, leaving your child behind that first time, especially if there are a few tears (yours and theirs). We will do our best to help make this process easy for you both. You will be encouraged to visit the Nursery together so that everything becomes familiar and friendships can start to form.
You will meet all the staff; discover where all the different rooms are and how everything works. A dedicated member of staff will be on hand to talk to you about your child, so that we know all those important details only a parent can pass on – such as eating habits, favourite things and nap times. If your child has a comfort blanket or beloved toy, feel free to bring it with you – we will make sure it is looked after.
The Nursery is well equipped with toys and materials to help children meet all their social, emotional and Early Learning needs through interesting play. We encourage 7 areas of the curriculum.
3 Prime Areas:
- Physical Development
- Communication and language
- Personal,social and emotional development
Along with 4 specific areas:
- Understanding of the world
- Expressive arts and design
- Literacy
- Mathematics
Amidst all this activity we provide soothing quiet times if a child needs them (perhaps our own work places should take note!).
Each day is organised to offer a variety of activities both indoors and out and is structured around meal times (mid morning snack, lunch and afternoon tea). Each meal is freshly prepared on the premises and offers a tasty, well balanced diet. If your child has any special dietary needs, just let us know and we will make sure they are adhered to.
